In February 2011 I was part of a small team who travelled to the Churchill Northern Studies Centre on Hudson Bay, Canada, to collect data as part of a decade long research project at the Artic’s edge. Our group included engineers, environmentalists, physicists and educators.

We collected snow and ice cores, temperature readings and snow pack data to inform the research of Dr. Peter Kershaw. During our time in Churchill temperatures dropped to as low as -52°C, but will did still manage to build and sleep in an igloo under the lights of the Aurora Borealis.
