In 2012 I spent a couple of months working with Dragon Electric Vehicles, the UK’s only converter of petrol and diesel vehicles to electric. I was part of a team working on a range of electric vehicle projects, including bespoke conversions and the planning of an Electric Land Speed Record attempt.
One of the main projects I worked on was the development of a high speed electric motorcycle. We converted a Honda CBR600 for use in sprint and hillclimb events. At the time Dragon had the only Motor Sports Association registered electric vehicle in the UK that competed against combustion fuelled vehicles.
